3 Easy Edibles Recipes to Get You Baked

1. Cannabutter – Approx. 3 hours

Cannabutter is a staple in any canna-chef’s kitchen due to its versatility. You can create easy edibles of almost any kind with cannabutter!

– 1 cup of butter
– 1 cup of water
– 8 – 10 grams of cannabis flower (after baking and grinding, this should measure to about 1 cup of ground cannabis flower)

– Typical kitchen appliances

– Cheesecloth
– Funnel
– Grinder

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 245ºF.

Step 2: Put down some parchment paper on a baking tray and arrange your nugs on the tray. Bake nugs in the oven for 30 – 40 minutes. Older nugs (that appear drier) may take less time to bake. If you’re in a hurry, you can set your oven to 300ºF and bake for 10 to 18 minutes. Three or four times, take the tray out and shake up the nugs a little for an even bake.

Step 3: Grind those nugs up coarsely (not too fine or else you’ll get plant material in your butter).

Step 4: Add water and butter into a saucepan together. Simmer on low and let the butter start melting.

Step 5: Add the weed in as the butter begins to melt. Maintain low heat and let the mixture simmer (not boil!) for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.

Step 6: Use a funnel on top of a jar lined with cheesecloth to strain the butter once it’s cooled off. Let it strain freely without squeezing the cheesecloth (unless you want your butter to taste really weedy).

Step 7: Refrigerate jar and you’re good to go! Once the butter solidifies (which will take about an hour), feel free to drain excess water in the jar.

Dosage will depend on many things but if your weed has about 17% THC and you used 9 grams of cannabis, you have approximately 92 servings of cannabutter, each with 10mg of THC.

2. Weed Bacon – Approx. 1 hour and 15 mins

Ready for the most epic wake-n-bake ever featuring some of the most easy edibles to cook up?

– 8 bacon strips
– 1-2 grams of finely ground cannabis

– Typical kitchen appliances

Step 1: Preheat oven to 225ºF.

Step 2: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and sprinkle cannabis on the baking sheet. Bake for about 45 minutes. It may need less time if the cannabis is dry or a bit older.

Step 3: Place the bacon strips on an ungreased baking sheet.

Step 4: When the cannabis is done baking, take out the tray and preheat oven to 275 ºF.

Step 5: While the oven preheats, sprinkle HALF of the baked cannabis evenly onto uncooked bacon strips. Feel free to add more or less cannabis to change the dosage of each strip.

Step 6: Bake the bacon for 10 minutes. Then take it out, flip the bacon, and sprinkle the rest of the cannabis to the other side of the bacon. Bake for an additional 10 minutes.

And you’re ready for a delicious breakfast of champions! Keep in mind that any leftover bacon grease will be infused so feel free to put it into a jar and store for future use.

3. Cannabis-Infused Salad Dressing – Approx. 3 – 8 hours

The munchies have a bad rap for being unhealthy. Well, let’s turn that all around with this light and tangy salad dressing perfect for any stoner’s salad!

– 1 cup of coarsely ground cannabis flower (or less for decreased potency)
– 1 cup of olive oil
– 1 cup balsamic vinegar
– 4 teaspoons Dijon mustard
– 2 finely minced garlic cloves OR 2 teaspoons garlic powder
– 2 tablespoons honey
– 2 teaspoons salt
– ½ teaspoon black pepper

– Typical kitchen appliances
– Double-boiler, slow cooker, or saucepan
– Funnel
– Cheesecloth
– 2 Jars

Step 1: Combine oil, ground cannabis, and a small amount of water into your double-boiler, slow cooker, or saucepan.

  • For a slow cooker: Cook on low for 4 – 6 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • For a double-boiler: Cook on low for 6 – 8 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • For a saucepan: Cook on low for at least 3 hours, stirring frequently (be careful not to scorch it!)
    The temperature of your oil should never exceed 245 ºF!!!

Step 2: Strain and store the oil with your funnel, cheesecloth, and jar. Let it strain naturally though, and resist the urge to squeeze the cheesecloth. It’ll make your dressing taste weedy.

Step 3: Put oil in the fridge.

Step 4: Combine the rest of the ingredients into a jar with a tight-fitting lid, and shake until well-combined. Once your canna-oil has cooled off, add it to the mixture and shake well again. The better you shake the dressing, the more even the dosage will be throughout the jar.
